RESEARCH METHODOLOGY TRAINING

On, 9th February 2012, Department of Food Science and Technology UNS conducting Research Methodology Training that is attended by almost all staffs at that department . The main material given by the instructors are (1) factorial design, (2) randomized complete design, (3) randomized block design, (4) split-plot design, (5) latin square design, and (6) introduction to SPPS for analyzing experiment data, which is mostly used by student to do  their final project.

EFFECT OF DISTILLATION TEMPERATURE AND STAGE OF CONDENSER ON SENSORY CHARACTERISTIC OF LIQUID SMOKE DISTILLATE

Modification of liquid smoke distillation equipment by constructing three condenser stages is aiming to prevent carry over of benzo[a]pyren and tar during the process. This modification is estimated affecting sensory characteristic of each liquid smoke distillate fraction. Hence, the purpose of this research is investigating the effect of distillation temperature as wll as condenser stage on sensory characteristic of each fraction. The distillation process is conducted on temperature 90-100^oC, 100-110^oC, and 110-120^oC. Distillate is produced in four parts (pre-condensasation, stage 1, stage 2, and stage 3). The The result of this research shows that each distillate fraction has different chemical and sensory characteristic. This research was under supervision of Prof. Purnama Darmadji and Dr. Yudi Pranoto (Gadjah Mada University). The paper was also published on Jurnal Teknologi Hasil Pertanian Vol. IV No. 2 Agustus 2011 ISSN: 1979 0309. Please do not hesitate to contact me for discussing further.

UNS WEBOMETRICS RANKING

Not different with 4ICU ranking, in 2012 UNS is on 7th position in Indonesia or on 1186th in the world evaluated by Webometrics. Webometrics is web ranking of higher education in the world according to :

• Size (S). Number of pages recovered from four engines: Google, Yahoo, and Bing Search.
• Visibility (V). The total number of unique external links received (inlinks) by a site, according to Yahoo Site Explorer.
• Rich Files (R). After evaluation of their relevance to academic and publication activities and considering the volume of the different file formats, the following were selected: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Adobe PostScript (.ps), Microsoft Word (.doc) and Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt). These data were extracted using Google, Yahoo and Bing.
• Scholar (Sc). The data is a combination of items published between 2006 and 2010 included in Google Scholar and the global output (2004.-2008) obteined from Scimago SIR.

The other universities that is above position than UNS are, indeed, well-known as better university than UNS, such as UGM, ITB, UI, ITS, IPB, and UPI. Based on the composition, I am sure that two years later the UNS position can increase,  defeating ITS, IPB, and UPI, at least. It is not mission impossible, because UNS is on better position thanboth of  ITS and IPB in 4ICU. And I think, to be better than UPI is an possible mission!

Once again I say that optimizing official web of university to get good position in world rank is a nice strategy to realize “UNS as world class university”, or at least “UNS as world recognized class university”.   And I am sure, this blog plays a role (although just a little…) to increase the position of UNS in both 4ICU and webometrics.

SEANDAINYA CEWEK ADALAH MAKANAN

Sop Kepiting: Ni cewek keliatannya aja keras… tapi sebenernya sih rapuh… Agak repot juga buat membuka kulit luarnya… tapi kalo udah berhasil, bakal menemukan sesuatu yang lembut dan nikmat di dalamnya…

Rujak Manis: Cewek yang seger banget.. kalo lagi suntuk, dia bisa bikin fresh lagi, asik deh pokoknya, ni cewek bisa bikin mata n pikiran seger lagi.. tapi jangan kebanyakan, bisa sakit perut…!!!

Bubur Ayam : Cewek kayak gini kalo baru kenal biasanya hangat, ramah dan bersahabat tapi itu cuma awalnya aja, soalnya lama- kelamaan dia bakal dingin dan bikin eneg, udah gitu becek pula… lumayan lah kalau cuma buat sarapan pagi…

Sayur Bening: Cewek yang polos dan lugu ga suka bertingkah macem-macem.. rada kolot dan gak romantis… tapi bisa buat nambah vitamin… dinikmatin panas atau dingin tetep enak sangat menyehatkan…

Mie Pangsit: Kalo lagi laper, lumayanlah buat ganjel perut… yah bisalah buat nemenin kalo lagi sendiri, buat ngisi kekosongan…

Rendang: Pedas, panas, judes dan galak, tapi kalo ngomong jujur dan apa adanya. Dah gitu mo menang sendiri, dan egois. Cukup bergizi, tapi gak bagus buat yang punya darah tinggi, bisa kambuh !!!

Buah Kalengan: Meskipun kelihatan segar, tapi udah mengandung bahan pengawet dan pemanis buatan, gak alami gitu… cewek kayak gini, udah dipoles sana-sini biar kelihatan menarik dan mengundang selera.. bisa dibilang bermereklah, jadi yah butuh modal lebih untuk bisa menikmatinya…

Kerupuk: murah, gak ada gizinya…
