{"id":1981,"date":"2013-06-24T19:59:41","date_gmt":"2013-06-24T12:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahadiandimas.staff.uns.ac.id\/?p=1981"},"modified":"2013-06-24T19:59:41","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T12:59:41","slug":"hcd-connect-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahadiandimas.staff.uns.ac.id\/?p=1981","title":{"rendered":"HCD CONNECT GRANT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hcdconnect.org\/static\/r5246baf0d4834e1cadde9400be9f7228\/img\/logo_ideoorg.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"51\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The HCD Connect platform and the microgrant program are designed to catalyze new best practices to help\u00a0<strong>ensure that people using human-centered design to tackle poverty-related challenges around the world are receiving direct input on their solutions<\/strong>.\u00a0The HCD Connect website and funding for these Microgrants is made possible thanks to a grant from the Agricultural Development group at the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation. For this reason, the second cycle of Microgrants will again\u00a0<strong>focus on projects using human-centered design towards agriculture-related projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In light of successes from the first round of Microgrants, this second cycle will be even more method focused. You can find more information in the\u00a0<a title=\"HCD Toolkit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hcdconnect.org\/toolkit\/en\/download\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">HCD Toolkit HERE<\/a>\u00a0and you may brainstorm which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hcdconnect.org\/methods\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">methods<\/a>\u00a0will be most applicable to your project!<\/p>\n<p>The methods include various forms of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>H<\/strong>: Hear \u2013 Determine who to talk to, how to gather stories, and how to document your observations<\/li>\n<li><strong>C:<\/strong>\u00a0Create &#8211;\u00a0Generate opportunities and solutions that are applicable to the whole community<\/li>\n<li><strong>D:<\/strong>\u00a0Deliver \u2013 Take your top solutions, make them better, and move them toward implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GRANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The judging panel will be made up of social sector, agriculture, and design experts well-versed in the power of human-centered design.\u00a0<strong>The judges will award HCD Connect Microgrants in the following two categories:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Planning Grant<\/strong>: planning grants are for individuals or organizations initiating the human-centered design process as part of a particular project and requiring funding to conduct HCD \u201chear\u201d or \u201ccreate\u201d research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10,000 Implementation Grant<\/strong>: implementation grants are designed for individuals or organizations that have experienced the human-centered design process and need funding to pilot or implement their project solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The microgrants are available to any country in the world where people are working on projects that meet the following three criteria:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>The project must be related to\u00a0<strong>agricultural development<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The project must have drawn from, or be planning to employ, the methods and\u00a0approaches of\u00a0<strong>human-centered design<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Someone from the project team must create a story on HCD Connect detailing the project or proposed project. In general, grant-making preference will be given to active\u00a0participants on the HCD Connect platform.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications are due before 15 July 2013 11:59PM PST<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0Please submit your completed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mladiinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/HCDMicrograntapplication.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">application form AVAILABLE HERE<\/a>\u00a0to microgrants@iDEo.org.\u00a0<\/strong>They will consider the information provided in this application as well as your participation on the\u00a0HCD Connect platform as part of our selection criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Questions or problems?
